Princess Party

This last Sat. Kaylyn was invited to a Princess Tea Party for her friend Madi's 4th Birthday. All the girls dressed up in their princess attire. It was so darling, I had to take pictures. She was shy at first and didnt' want to participate in the games and the lunch, but afterwards she started to open up and play and dance with the other girls. She came home and ran in the door and told my mom and Geoff (with great enthusiasm) "That was a GREAT Party!" I was glad with all that had been going on the previous week I was able to take her.

Valentines day

Well I know this is a bit out of order, but here's the kids on Valentines Day with their goodies and cards they recieved from family and friends.

38 weeks and 2 days!!

No picture this time, because frankly I'm to tired to get pretty enough to have a picture taken! I am however at 38weeks (and 2 days if anyone is counting!). I went to the doctor again today and the first thing both her and her nurse said to me was "I'm real surprised to see you here. I was sure you would've gone by now!" Real encouraging right?? She checked me again and for all you woman, you will know what I'm refering to, I'll explain for the men. I'm dilated to a +4 (at 10 it's time to deliver), 80% effaced (cervix thinned out, needs to be 100%) and at a 0 station (2 is when the baby's head is crowning). (I hope that wasn't too graphic.) It's progress over last week, but not as much as I was hoping for, considering the contractions I've been having. Usually by this stage in my pregnancy I'm just absolutely miserable, and I have to say I'm not there yet....maybe because I know this is my last pregnancy. If I haven't gone into labor by my next weeks appointment (March 4th) she's going to set up my induction date, even though I'll only be 39 weeks. Thank goodness I have doctor who won't leave me in pain for another 2 or 3 weeks! I have been drinking atleast 2 glasses of my Raspberry Leaf Tea a day, so maybe that will spur something on :0)

Hopefully the next time I'm posting anything about my pregnacy it will be that the baby has arrived!!! Send good labor thoughts my way.

What a day!

Let me tell you about today. I guess I should start with the week. We've all been fighting this stupid cold/flu for the last few weeks, but this week it hit Hayden and Geoff hard. Hayden missed 4 days of school this week and Geoff has currently missed 2 days of work, which if you know him is not like him. He only gets sick every 3 to 5 years, but when he does, he's down and out for atleast a week if not more.

Well this morning I was running late getting Hayden ready for school, which I wasn't sure if I was taking him or not, when I heard a loud crash downstairs, where Geoff had just gone to get a drink and use the restroom. I had a feeling I knew what had happened, and when I started running down the stairs screaming his name and he wasn't answering I knew I was right and he had passed out. I opened the bathroom door to find him on the floor legs around the toilette having convulsions. His eyes were open, but he wasn't responding to me yelling at him or hitting his cheeks. I grabbed the phone and called 911 and ran back into the bathroom, by that point he was completely gone with his eyes rolled back into his head and his breathing gurgling and uneven. He was out for atleast 2 mins, and by the time the ambulance's arrived he was awake, but soaked in sweat and pale white. His blood pressure and pulse was really low and they wanted to take him to the ER.

Hayden and I followed in the van to the ER. (Thank goodness Kaylyn had spent the night at my mom's to give me a much needed break.) My mother-in-law met us there and took care of Hayden. Geoff was in the ER for almost 2 hrs, and they ran blood tests, an EKG, Stress Test and X-Rays. Turns out it is a 'safety' nerve, the largest nerve we have in our bodies, that shuts the body down when under extreme stress, fear and exhaustion. Between his fever, dehydration and then relieving his bladder (which dropped his blood pressure and heart rate very quickly) his body went into shut down mode. The only thing the tests showed was that he has bronchitis. So he's now home on antibiotics.

I'm not sure if I've ever been so terrified. I wasn't sure if it was a siezer, stroke or what and I about lost it. I held it together until we got home and then went into shock and cried most the afternoon. I couldn't get the image out of my mind. Also doesn't help that I'm pregnant and my emotions are all over the place! We spent the rest of the day resting, but once Geoff's adrenaline wore off he realized how sore he was from falling, and I haven't been able to calm myself down....still. I'm having irregular contrations, hence why I'm not asleep yet.

I just thought everyone might want to know whats going on. If anything else happens we'll update. We also just wanted to thank everyone who helped or offered to help us today. Family, friends and neighbors all offered so much, so THANK YOU!!!

36 1/2 weeks!

If you notice the title of this post is 36 and 1/2 weeks. Every day at this point gets counted! I went in to the doctors office a few days ago and she checked me. Not only was she surprised at how much lower I've gotten since the last appointment, but I'm dilated to +2! She asked if I had everything ready and I commented that everything was about ready, but the hospital bags. She then said that needs to be my first priority when I get home. (They're still not done, but they will be.) I have another appointment on Presidents day (since I'm now going weekly), so we'll see if there has been anymore change then. Cross your fingers for me. 23 days to go!!!

Nap Time

We recently had a long day and had gotten home around 5pm. We turned on the tv and Geoff fell asleep while I watched the kids and wrote my grocery list, before I knew it around 6pm, I was out. Kaylyn came up on the couch with me, curled up and fell asleep all on her own. Geoff and Hayden were up talking, the lights and tv were all on, but she was tired enough none of it affected her. I let her sleep till 7pm and then woke her for dinner. This just proves that even though she's 3 1/2 and a BIG GIRL, she still needs naps. (Just like me!)

Cousinly LOVE

Just a cute picture of the kids with their cousin Ava. They all love playing together. Poor Hayden is not only 3 years older, but the only boy, although it doesn't seem to bother him.

Superbowl Sunday

This year Geoff wanted to have a few friends over to watch the Superbowl on his new TV. In years past he's either been working or we've gone to our families homes to watch because they had better tv's. He was so proud of his tv and the HD picture! He asked his two closest and oldest friends (they've all been friends for alteast 23 years) Peter and Mike. It was a guys day with Pizza, chips, pop and football. I had to document the fun they had together. Mike had thought ahead and brought enough 3D glasses for everyone to enjoy the 3D preview during the half-time show. The kids loved being included. After the game was over the guys stayed till midnight playing the Wii. Geoff is incredibly lucky to have such good friends that live so close. Hopefully they'll all be able to get together again soon!

Harley

I posted these pictures for a few different reasons......

1. People think we never let our dog out of his cage, but truely he's out of his cage more than he is in it, just not when we have company over. He's a great family dog, but EXTREMELY hyper towards strangers. Unless you want him jumping all over you and possibly tinkling on your pants, his cage is the best place for him.

2. I wanted to try out my new camera in the kids/pets mode.

3. He's a cute dog and since some of our best friends commented the other day that they've never even seen our dog, I thought I'd show him off. He deserves a blog posting!

This is Hayden's Kindergarten photo. I usually take him to some place like Sears or JC Pennys to have his photos taken, but i thought this one turned out so cute and looked so typical for a school photo, that I've just used this as his 6 year picture. Sure his hair may be a little matted but that grin shows who he really is!
